The CROWN of CHRIST - Understanding the Times in the Light of Scripture
The Pope of
Rome is the
Anti-christ
There is no other head of the Church, but the Lord Jesus
Christ; nor can the Pope of Rome, in any sense, be head
thereof; but is that Antichrist, that man of sin, and son of
perdition, that exalteth himself, in the Church, against
Christ and all that is called God.  -
Westminster Confession
of Faith, 25:6

The Medieval Papacy was not an apostolic or Biblical
institution.  Indeed, it grew slowly into a tyranny over the
state as well as the spiritual realm.  Jesus told His Apostles
never to lord it over each other.  Popes claimed lordship
even over Kings of sovereign nations.  Jesus wore a crown
of thorns; Popes wear a triple crown and claim global
authority.

What does the Bible say? (1 Thessalonians 2:3-9)

Let no man deceive you by any means: (1) for that day
shall not come, except their come a departing first, and
that
(2) that man of sin be disclosed, even the son of
perdition.  Which is an adversary, and
(3) exalteth himself
against all that is called God, or that is worshipped:
(4) so
that he doeth sit as God in the Temple of God, shewing
himself that he is God.
(5) Remember ye not, that when I
was yet with you, I told you these things?  ...And now ye
know
(6) what withholdeth, that he might be revealed in
his time.
(7) For the mystery of iniquity doeth already
worke:
(8) only he which now (9) withholdeth, shall let till
he be taken out of the way.
(10) And then shall (11) that wicked man be revealed,
whom the Lord shall
(12) consume with the (13) Spirit of
his mouth, and shall abolish with the brightnesse of his
comming, Even him whose comming is by the effectual
working of Satan, with all his power, and signes, and
(14)
lying wonders.

(1) The Apostle Paul predicts that before the coming of
the Lord a throne will be set up to oppose Christ's glory.  A
wicked man will sit enthroned claiming to be divine, and
many will follow him.
(2) The one man of sin refers to both the man of evil and
his church, which are united like head and body.
(3) We all know which man this is, who brags that he can
open and close heaven's gate.  He expects even kings and
princes to bow down and worship him as if he were a god.
(4) Antichrist doesn't rule outside of the Church, but in
the very heart of the Church!
(5) The Ancient Church had repeated warnings about the
rise of this Antichrist, yet they forget them.
(6) Something hindered Antichrist and kept him from
appearing.
(7) Even during the time of the Apostles, the foundations
of pride and tyranny were working, but slowly so that men
were deceived.
(8) When the Roman Empire fell, the power vacuum was
filled by the Antichrist.
(9) Roman Emperors kept the Pope from claiming universal
dominion.
(10) The Antichrist will eventually be destroyed by the
truth of the Bible, and the Second Coming of Christ.
(11) "Wicked man" is litearlly "lawless fellow".  The
Antichrist replaced God's laws with his own.
(12) Jesus will make the Antichrist powerless.
(13) True preachers are God's mouth. They breath out the
Bible which crushes all lies.
(14) Satan will give the Antichrist power to deceive many,
often through false "miracles", but true believers will not
be tricked.
Ecclesiæ caput

Jesum Christum
nullum est; nec
ullo sensu caput

Papa Romanus, qui
est insignis ille
Antichristus, homo
ille peccati et
perditionis
filius; in
Ecclesia semet

Christum, et supra

Deus.

No hay más cabeza

el Señor
Jesucristo; y no
puede en ningún
sentido el Papa de
Roma ser cabeza de
ella; ya que es
aquel Anticristo,
aquel hombre de
pecado e hijo de
perdición que se
exalta en la
iglesia contra
Cristo y contra
todo lo que se
llama Dios.
