The CROWN of CHRIST - Understanding the Times in the Light of Scripture

- 1 -
In just six days the Lord made the earth and the sky
On the seventh He rested from labour
What's good for the Lord is law for you and I
Let's obey Him and bask in His favour

- corus -
Oh, six days for working and one day for worship
And I'll set aside my own pleasure
The world all around may buy and sell and play
But I'll call the Sabbath my treasure

- 2 -
On the first day the Lord busted out from His tomb
As the Light of a new re-creation
So our one day of worship was moved from last to first
But God's law, it faced no abrogation

- 3 -
By the candles and lanterns of log bygone days
Once the Lord's Day meant more than bell-ringing
In many the home God's people gathered 'round
For reading and prayer and psalm-singing

- 4 -
Now the Sabbath is dead and our morals have fled
We cannot honour God's law in pieces
We must worship in fear and keep our conscience clear
Or our social decay just increases
This lyric can
be sung to the
Lommond".
